Helen M. Piatt
Helen M. Piatt of 1000 Hadley Lane left Heartland Marietta and went home to be with her Lord on March 29, 2011 at 9:05 PM at the age of 90 surrounded by her Heartland family.
She was born on July 10,1920 in Waynesburg PA.
On January 1, 1940 she married Samuel L. Piatt also of Waynesburg PA. In 1960 Sam and Helen moved to Marietta when he was transferred to the BF Goodrich store on Second St. from the Waynesburg, PA store.
She is survived by her daughters Judith Piatt of Marietta, OH (Significant Other Dave Waterman IV) and Mary Warren (husband Butch) of Baker FL. and granddaughter Brenda Kay Beaver (husband Kevin) of Seffner FL.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2002. Helen loved to camp with her husband, a fulltime homemaker, babysat for many of the area children over the years and was and active member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary for many years. She was a member of Jefferson Baptist Temple in Parkersburg WV.
Helen had requested that no funeral service be held. Graveside services will be held on Friday (April 1) at Oak Grove Cemetery at 10:00 am. Friends and family are welcome to attend.
