Helen Ozelle Leonhart

Helen Ozelle Leonhart of Marietta went home to be with her Lord and Savior on May 3, 2024. She was born February 19, 1932, to Meredith and Ozelle Spikes in Bellevue, Texas.

She married Frank C. Leonhart, Jr. on February 22, 1949 and lived in Devola all her married life. She was a member of Putnam Congregational Church in Devola where she sang in the church choir, was a Trustee and Deaconess, served in the Flower Committee and Women’s Fellowship. She was an Optometric Assistant to Dr. J. Wilson for 17 years. She was a volunteer at Marietta Memorial Hospital in the Cancer Center. She enjoyed cooking, baking and taking care of her husband and her flowers.

She has two sons, Monte (Bert) Leonhart of Tennessee and Rocky Leonhart of Devola. She is also survived by her brother Tommy Spikes and sister Marie Parker and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents, sister Daisy Ann Spikes and 3 brothers: Jessie, J. R. Spikes and Art Spikes.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday (May 7) from 4 until 7 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. A graveside service will be on Wednesday at 11:00 am in Putnam Cemetery. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
