Helen Patterson Lee

Helen Ruth McBride Patterson Lee of Marietta passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at her home. She was born October 14, 1925, to Charles Henry McBride and Ona Ethel Casto McBride.

She married her first love Carl Kenneth Patterson on August 10, 1946. He died in an accident on September 3, 1973. She later married Donley E. Lee on January 9, 1975. He died July 11, 1987.

Helen was employed at Marietta Center in the dietary department for 15 years. Later she was employed at The Inn of Marietta as a server for 11 years. She graduated from Marietta High School in 1943.

Helen loved gardening and working in her flowers. She loved to sing and she sang for 11 years with Sweet Adelines. Helen was a good cook and like to bake and entertain her friends. She was a member of Gilman United Methodist Church and Wesley Circle.

Helen is survived by her loving son whom she dearly loved, Lanny Dean (Millie) Patterson, 4 grandchildren: Teri Patterson (Jeremy) Howell of Marietta, Jill Patterson (John) Wright of Winchester, OH, Heath (Lexie) Patterson of Marietta, Alisha Patterson of Marietta; great grandchildren: Seth Stevens, McKayla Stevens, Kaitlin Howell, Jessica Wright, Jennah Wright, Jadyn Wright, Noelle Patterson, Chloe Patterson; 4 special nieces and nephews: Steven Worstell, Sharon Stewart, Lisa Stewart, Kenna Huck; special friends, Bridget Warren and Chris Bishman. Helen had lots of friends and she loved her family and grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Helen was preceded in death by parents, husbands, grandson Kenneth Dean Patterson, her sisters, Velma Worstell, Opal Slider, Hazel Simms, Thelma Becker and brother Robert McBride, and nephew Gene Worstell.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (March 2) at 11:00 am at Gilman United Methodist Church with Pastor Diann O’Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
