Irvin “Junior” O Stokes Jr.
Irvin "Junior" O Stokes Jr., 82, of New Matamoras, passed away Friday (Nov. 4, 2011) at his home. He was born Dec. 31, 1928, in Sistersville, to Irvin O. Stokes Sr. and Stella (Sandy) Stokes.
He had served as a Sergeant with the U.S. Army, during Korea. He later worked with Pickerington Security for 21 years until his retirement. He also was a member of the Ohio Valley Post 760 of Hannibal, Ohio, and a member of the Par Hall Community Church in Beavertown.
May 1958 he married Nina Patterson who passed away in 1991.
Surviving are three grandchildren: Jeremiah, Marie and Cody Kivak; daughter, Tara Rowley; son-in-law, Al Rowley; his best friend and care provider, Stephanie Williams and her son, Levi; and several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Angel.
In addition to his parents and wife, several brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
Funeral services with full military rites will be held at 3 p.m. Friday (Nov. 11) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with David Beaver officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com
