Jack Arland Phillips
Jack Arland Phillips, 72, of Marietta, passed away at 9:35 am on Tuesday, August 16, 2011, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born on July 2, 1939, at Fairmont, WV, a son of Paul and Geraldine S. Smith Phillips. Jack graduated from West Virginia University as a chemical engineer and was known locally as a potter with his wife at Darlene’s Ceramics.
On September 20, 2003, he married Darlene Wilson who survives with his sister Julia Kay (James) Cooke of Pikeville, TN, 4 step daughters: Kim (Mark) Finnegan of Perrysburg, OH, Kerry (Tom) Kottyan of Millfield, OH, Kristie (Duane) Garrison of Waverly, WV, Koni (Darrell) Phillips of Aynor, SC, 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, stepfather and 1 great grandson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (August 19) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial to follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 2:00pm with family present from 2-4 & 6-8.
