Jack E. Groves

Jack E. Groves, 79 of Marietta, Ohio went to be with the Lord on June 8, 2011 at 6:45pm at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born in Marietta on January 7, 1932, to Charlotte Gallagher Groves and Harvard Groves. He married Donna J. Price in 1950 who preceded him in death in 1981. He married Lynne Wetzel on December 4, 1981. He retired from Elkem Metals in 1988 and had served in the National Guard. He was a member of HarborSite Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Lynne Groves, one daughter Renee Groves Hodge (Kim), one step-daughter Fawn Wetzel Yeager (Kerry), one step-son Chris Wetzel (Sandy Feick), and son-in-law Rodney Mathers all of Marietta, grandchildren, Amy Metcalf, Brian Metcalf (Jamie), Jessie Hodge Beddow, Adam Metcalf, Duffy Hodge Sprague (Adam), Danielle Yeager Ludwick (Brandon), Adam Yeager, Kyle Hodge (Jillynn), Matt Yeager, Megan Yeager Hartshorn (Matt), and 11 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Donna Groves, one daughter Valorie Groves Mathers, and one great grandson Gabe Sprague.

Funeral Services will be held at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Saturday June 11 at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Arbuckle officiating the service. Burial will be in Putnam Cemetery in Devola. Visiting hours will be Friday at the funeral home from 6-8 pm with family present.
