James “Jim” Huff

James “Jim” Huff, 81, of Marietta died 10:05 am, October 17, 2008 at his home after a long-term illness. 

He was born in Rector, AK, to Freeman & Turna May Mailer Huff on February 11, 1927.  Jim served in the United Sates Navy from 1946 to 1948 and was a lifetime member of VFW post #64.  He drove 18 Wheelers for over 30 years and retired from Ford Brothers in themed 80’s. He enjoyed fishing, watching racing on T.V. and Loved to play Blue Grass music.  He especially loved his children and grand children deeply.

On January 29, 1946 he married Helen Spence who survives with his son Phil (Cheryl) Huff of Beverly, daughter-in-law Donita Huff of Fultonham, Ohio and grandchildren Keith (Crystal) Huff of Lowell, Chad (Amber)  Huff of Texas, Craig (Amanda) Huff of Dayton, Susan Huff of Fultonham, ohio and Beverly Huff of Lancaster.  Also surviving are great grandchildren Christian Huff and Brian Huff of Texas; Chance Huff of Dayton; Aidyn Kohler of Fultonham, and Abigail Huff of Dayton. Two step-grandchildren Tyler Domino and Brooke Stevens both of Beverly and sisters Frank Huff and Jean Huff both of Arkansas also survive.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sons Carl and James Huff and grandson Rickie Huff.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Tuesday, October 21st at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in Burnt Hill Cemetery with full military rites.  Friends may call from 6 pm Sunday until the hour of service. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 Sunday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 on Monday.  Online condolences may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
