James Preston Beebe

James Preston Beebe was born prematurely on August 13, 1943 and died at age 66, one week prior to his birthday surrounded by his beloved cats. 

He was born in Dundalk, Maryland to Preston and Nona Burkhart.  He is survived by his mother, Nona Janks of Elkton, Maryland, and his father, Dana Beebe who adopted him at age 4.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by his brothers and sisters; Robert (Ramona) Beebe of Elkton, MD, Michael Beebe of Torch, OH, Sharon (Ed) Ashlock of Dardenelle, AR, Patrick (Jayne) Beebe of Fleming, OH, Brenda Beebe (Doug) Duncan of Springfield, OH and Christina (Jeff) Masters of Little Hocking, OH.  He loved his nieces and nephews and believed in his family and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his birth father, one sister, Bonnie Beebe and a niece, Anna Laura Masters.

Jim was an excellent mechanic and enjoyed working on cars and trucks especially his Dually. He was an avid gun collector and enjoyed hunting.  He worked many years for his father at Beebe Construction before he suffered a back injury, diabetes and cancer. Jim dreamed of winning the    lottery. 

He attended church at Lower Salem United Methodist and Northside Baptist in Parkersburg. 

Calling hours will be from 12:00 to 2:00, Tuesday (August 10th) with services at 2:00 at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home..  Burial will follow at Tunnel Cemetery in the family plot.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley, P O Box 5, Marietta, OH 45750.
