James R. Russell

James R. Russell, 80, of Williamstown, went to be with our Lord peacefully at home on Oct, 26, 2011, with his loving family at his side. He was born on Aug. 12, 1931, in St. Marys, W.Va., to the late Thomas Asher and Iowa Daisy Russell, the eighth of 10 children.

Jim served in the Air Force during the Korean War and was self-employed at Russell Electric for 50 years. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church in Parkersburg and served the Lord his entire life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Lenora Russell; daughter, Susan (Carlos) Cain Sanchez; son, Thomas (Karen) Russell; grandchildren, Andrew (Anna) Cain, Shannon Russell and Sam Russell; two great-grandchildren, Thomas and James Cain; his very special niece, Norma Jean Richardson; two sisters, Rosalie Lewis and Doris Ewing; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday (Oct. 31) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 30) from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Burial will follow in Burnt Hill Cemetery with full military rites by Williamstown American Legion Post #159.
