Jerry Paul Waite, Sr.

Jerry Paul Waite, Sr., 78, of Marietta passed away Thursday, August 16, 2018, at his home. He was born May 20, 1940, a son of Everett Lee and Mary Katherine Waite.

Jerry attended Bartlett schools. He joined the U. S. Navy in 1962 and discharged in 1984 but remained in the active reserves until 1990.

From his first marriage, Jerry had one daughter who survives, Caroline Waite. Several years later he married Sandra Davison who preceded him in death. Their son Jerry Paul (Michelle) Waite, Jr. of the U. S. Air Force survives along with 2 step children, Michael ( Derinda) Sage of Belpre and Michelle (Tim) Gillenwalters of Marietta; 8 grandchildren and 3 sisters: Patsie Lee Coler of Plant City, FL, Peggy Annabelle Swisher of Marietta and Kay Dye of Devola and his special friend Amber Miller of Marietta.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Aug. 22) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow in Lynch Cemetery with full military rites. Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-4 & 6-8.
