Joed “Joe” Burkhart
Joed “Joe” Burkhart, 87, of Marietta passed away at 4:40 pm October 28, 2014 at Marietta Memorial Hospital.
He was born October 10, 1927 in Rockport, WV to Frank and Pearl (King) Burkhart. Joe was a truck driver by trade and was a member of the Fairview Heights Chapel. He was also a veteran of WW II while serving in the US Army.
On April 15, 1994 he married Pearl Huntsman Jackson who survives with stepchildren Dave Matheny (Donna), Patty Seevers (Bill), Steve Matheny, Bill Matheny, Peggy Warton (Dave), Jamie Sheets, Dave Jackson (Barb), Debra Jackson, Richard Jackson (Debbie), June Edgell (Mark) and Don Jackson (Sue). Joe is also survived by a special niece and nephew Clair and Sandy Burkhart, and many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents his first wife Viola, stepson Jim Jackson and grandson Brad Edgell preceded Joe in death.
Funeral services will be held 11 am Saturday, November 1st at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Woody Pryor officiating followed by full military rites.
