John A. “Pig” Sturm
John A. “Pig” Sturm, 60, of Marietta, passed away on Tuesday, May 29, 2012.
He was born on August 7, 1951, at Marietta Memorial Hospital and was the son of Harold D. Sturm, Sr. and Berry J. Harris Lightfritz. He was employed by the City of Marietta for over 35 years. John enjoyed fishing, gardening and coaching sports for his children and grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Sherry Lincoln Sturm of Marietta; 2 children, Chad Eric and Terrie Jean Lincoln also of Marietta. John loved his grandchildren, Devin Wilson of Ravenswood, WV, Lexi and Tristan Lincoln of Marietta, Braden and Riley Medley of Marietta and Khole Lincoln of Marietta. John’s brothers and sisters are: Marsha Sturm of Parkersburg, Harold “Sonny” Sturm (Kathy) of Marietta, Debbie Sturm Davis (Gary) of Marietta, Steve Sturm of Belpre, Robert Sturm of WV, Donnie Lightfritz of Parkersburg, Tina Lightfritz of Marietta and Tara Lightfritz of Indiana. Sisters and brothers-in-law are: Dee Lightfritz (Joe) of Marietta, Terri Lincoln Robinson of Parkersburg, and Bob Lincoln (Kathy) of Marietta, mother-in-law Jean Lincoln, one aunt, Ida Harris of Marietta, a special loving family friend Amy McCutcheon and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Joe Lightfritz.
Memorial services will be held on Friday (June 1) at 7:00pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Mayor Joe Matthews officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday evening from 4:00 pm until the hour of the service. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
