John Lewis Phillips
John Lewis Phillips, 71, of Marietta passed away at 8:15am, Friday, December 29, 2017. He was born November 7, 1946, in Marietta to Lewis and Edith Callihan Phillips.
John had been employed as a lineman for Ohio Bell Telephone Company, was a veteran of the U. S. Army during Vietnam. He was a member of VFW Legion Post 5108 and American Legion Post 64 Legion Riders. He enjoyed playing darts, bumper pool and riding with the Legion Riders.
On April 10, 2000, he married Carol Henderhan who survives with 2 daughters from previous marriages, Judy (Tim) McLaughlin and Jennifer Phillips; 2 step daughters, Angela (Tony) Oliver and Amanda Adams; stepson Jason (Stephanie) Bonar; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and his dog Baxter. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial services will be held on Wednesday (Jan. 3) at 11:00 am McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. The family will greet friends before the service from 9 until 11. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
