Joseph “Gerard” Meunier

On July 1, 2024 Joseph “Gerard” Meunier (Byrdog) left his earthly body and entered his brand new body to go meet Jesus. Born February 1, 1955 in Nashville, TN to Joseph Gerard Meunier Sr. and Mary Wiggins Meunier.

In 1987 Gerard married his soulmate Tina Miller Meunier. Together they created a wonderful family. Daughter Teresa Gearhart. Grandchildren Thomas Meunier (Maddie Carpenter), Lexus Adkins (Shay), Sierra (Brennan) Fields, and great grandchildren Zayden and Vaydah. He is also survived by his sister Ellen Deaton, brother Monty Meunier and nieces Becky and Mary Deaton whom he loved very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law Dale and Linda Miller, and son-in-law Kevin Gearhart.

If you met Gerard, you never forgot him. He was full of life and loved meeting and getting to know everyone he met. He was very proud of his career as a Site Safety Supervisor. He worked on many heavy construction sites throughout the United States and developed many lasting friendships.

The family wants to thank the doctors and nurses for the wonderful care at the Strecker Cancer Center. Especially Dr. Nick Shah and Nurse Leaha. Thank you also, to the compassionate care from the Cawley Hospice Group, Reno Volunteer Fire Department and Marietta Memorial Hospital E.R.

Per his wishes, Gerard will be cremated with a celebration of life at a later date. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home at 314 Fourth Street, Marietta, OH 45750, is assisting with arrangements.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help to the funeral home to assist with funeral expenses.
