Joyce Prunty

Joyce Prunty, of Marietta, passed away Saturday (Oct. 13, 2012) at her home with her family by her side.

She was born Nov. 20, 1941, in Mill Springs, N.C., to the late Ralph and Julia Whiteside.

Joyce is survived by two daughters, Delta Prunty (John Conant) and Billie Jo Prunty. Grandchildren, Tyler, Marissa, Kamea, Kenny, Kinzyn, Jeffery, and Nick; one great-grandchild; two sisters, Juanita Nowlin of Spartanburg, S.C., Elizabeth (James) Watkins of Rutherfordton, N.C.; and two brothers, JR Whiteside (Cheryl) of Newburg, Md., and Michael (Sandy) of Columbus, N.C.; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Billie Dean Prunty; her parents; two brothers, Rufus and John (Steve); one sister, Judy; and a daughter, Beverly.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday at the River of Life Church on Franklin Street, Marietta. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church prior to the services.
