Judith Lynn Roberts Allen

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Judith Lynn Roberts Allen, a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. Judith left this world on September 24th, 2025, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever remain in our hearts.

Born on November 17, 1946, in Marietta, Judith was the daughter of Denver W. Roberts and Margaret Ullmer Roberts. She was a 1964 graduate of Marietta High School and had worked as a beautician for several years in Marietta. She later moved to Murrysville, PA, where she married Clifford Dean Allen on August 16, 1969 and while there, she worked in a flower shop and as a kindergarten teacher’s aide and had volunteered as an EMT for Murrysville Medic One, before returning to Marietta. Judith loved to be of service to others and her community.

She was blessed to have a supportive family, including her brother John L. (Patsy) Roberts and sister Linda Sewell Ellis. Judith was preceded in death by her beloved sister and her loving husband, Clifford D. Allen, who surely welcomed her with open arms.

Judith’s deep faith and active involvement at Gilman United Methodist Church defined her life. She was an active member, finding great joy in teaching Sunday school, particularly the curriculum of Children in Worship. Her passion for nurturing young minds and helping them grow in their faith was truly inspiring. Judith also dedicated her time and efforts to maintaining the church’s prayer garden, creating a peaceful and tranquil space for all to find solace.

For the last year and a half, Judith made her home at The Pines Assisted Living, where she found a warm community of friends. She especially cherished the times spent in devotions and Bible studies, drawing strength from her faith and from the companionship of those around her.

Outside of her church community, Judith was known for her green thumb and love for gardening. Judith also had an insatiable love for classic movies and was an avid reader. Her knowledge and passion for literature were contagious, and she often shared her favorite books and stories with those around her.

Above all else, Judith will be remembered as a devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Dr. Renee A. Caslow, with whom she shared a close and loving bond. Her love and care for her family knew no bounds. Judith also had an amazing connection with her granddaughters, Lydia Caslow and Maureen Caslow,
showering them with affection, wisdom, and guidance. She held a special place in her heart for her son-in-law, Ben Caslow, whose steadfast care and devotion in her final years brought her comfort, dignity, and peace. Judith deeply cherished his kindness, support, and presence, considering his care one of the greatest blessings of her later life.

Judith Lynn Roberts Allen leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and faith. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. Although our hearts are heavy, we take solace in the beautiful memories she has left behind.

A funeral service to celebrate Judith’s life will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, September 28th at Gilman United Methodist Church. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday and 1 hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made to Gilman United Methodist Church, as a tribute to Judith’s passion for education and faith.

“Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near; still loved, still missed, and very dear.”
