June Burton

June Burton, 91, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, October 11, 2009, at 2:00 pm at Heartland of Marietta.

She was born on October 22, 1917, in Belle Valley, Ohio, a daughter of Edmund and Stella Gessel Hupp.  She was a homemaker and had volunteered at Marietta Memorial and Selby General Hospitals and Heartland of Marietta.

In 1936, she married Allendale Julius “Red” Burton who passed away in 1994.

June is survived by 2 daughters and 3 sons:  Janice A. (Robert E. deceased) Quick of Marietta, Ronald Allen (Jan) Burton of Williamstown, James Albert (Georgeann) Burton of Atlanta, GA, C. Richard “Bub” (Vicki Lynn) Burton of Canal Winchester, Kimberly Sue (William A.) Reese of Marietta, 14 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 13 brothers and sisters.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday (October 16th) at 10:00 am at St. Mary Catholic Church with Msgr. John Michael Campbell as celebrant.  Entombment will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Visitation will be held on Thursday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home beginning at 4:00 pm with family present from 4 –8.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of Greater Ohio, 2545 Farmer’s Drive, Suite 300, Columbus, OH 43235.
