Karen Elaine Offenberger
Karen Elaine Offenberger of Marietta passed away Wednesday, February 10th, 2016, at home surrounded by her family. She was born Dec. 5, 1948 in Harriettsville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Georgene Stevens. She was a member of The Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption Church where she married her husband Danny Paul Offenberger on Sept. 28th, 1968. Throughout her life, she managed at several area restaurants including Broughton's, Pizza Hut, and Bob Evans, where she loved to interact with the community. She enjoyed teaching line dancing for many years, playing cards and trivia games, going to the movies, and anything that involved spending time with her family.
Karen will be deeply missed by Danny, her husband of 47 years; their four children, Kristy (Michael) Easton, Seth Offenberger, Jill (Jamey) Barnes, Andy (Sarah) Offenberger; 8 grandchildren, Jeremy, Jared, and Jordan Woodford, Nicholas Offenberger, Colton and Jacey Barnes, and Jacob and Lucas Offenberger. She is also survived by her brothers, Bill and Jeff (Lisa) Stevens, her longtime best friend, Karen Pierson, and many more friends and family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, February 15th, at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with Msgr. Michael Campbell as celebrant. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home, with the family present from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. There will be a Vigil service at 3 p.m.
