L. Lucille Bartmess

L. Lucille Bartmess, 79, of Dart passed away at 2:30 am on Friday, April 24, 2009, at Heartland of Marietta.

She was born on August 25, 1929, at Archers Fork, a daughter of Raymond and Amanda Thomas Westbrook.  Lucille was a graduate of Lawrence High School in 1947 as Valedictorian of her class.  She was a member of Eddy’s Ridge Church of Christ and a homemaker.

On April 20, 1948, she married Gale Bartmess who survives with 1 son and 2 daughters:  John (Natalie) Bartmess of Parkersburg, Judy (Michael) Henderhan and Diane Griffin both of Marietta, 6 grandchildren, and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving are 2 sisters:  Janie Eddy and Sara Lou (Ray) Becker and 2 brothers: Alfred (Janice) Westbrook and Delbert (Margaret) Westbrook, sister-in-law Jerry Westbrook and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 infant son Marvin, 1 sister Goldie Wagner and 1 brother Ralph Westbrook.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 28th, at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home.  Burial will be in Lawrence Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday afternoon from 2:00 with family present from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8.
