Leah A. Barnhouse

Leah A. Barnhouse, 85, of New Matamoras, passed away at 2:40 am on Sunday, August 7, 2011, at Harmar Place.

She was born on February 25, 1926, in Williamstown, WV, a daughter of Asher and Iowa Russell. She was a homemaker and a member of Williamstown Baptist Church.

On February 5, 1949, she married Chester Barnhouse who preceded her in death on January 14, 1993.

She is survived by 1 son Raymond (Maxolia) Barnhouse of New Matamoras, step daughter Shirley Lee of Abilene, TX; 9 grandchildren: Valerie, Michelle, Tricia, Alicia, Justin, Walley, Sherry, Jenny, Davey; 11 great grandchildren, 2 great, great grandchildren, 1 brother and 2 sisters.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers and 4 sisters.

The family would like to thank Harmar Place and Hospice for the excellent care they provided.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (August 10) at 2:00pm at Williamstown Baptist Church with Pastor David Beaver officiating. Burial will follow in Newport Cemetery. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Tuesday after 2:00pm with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 and at the church one hour before the service.
