Leatrice Addis

Leatrice Addis, 84, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at Harmar Place.

She was born on January 7, 1927, in Waverly, WV, a daughter of Herbert and Cora McMullin Howard.  Leatrice was a graduate of Macksburg High School in 1945.  She was an active member of Williamstown Church of Christ and taught Sunday School, was on Macksburg High Class Reunion Committee for many years and when she wintered in Florida, she volunteered at Mt. Dora Children’s Home.

On November 21, 1947, she married Kenneth E. Addis who preceded her in death on February 1, 2005.  She is survived by 2 sons, Stanley (Susan) Addis of Lebanon, OH and Terry (Elaine) Addis of Marietta, grandchildren:  Jay (Carey) Addis of Lebanon, Emily Addis of Lebanon, Doug (Emily) Addis of Marietta, Missy (Jon) Hutchinson; great grandchildren:  Anna Dee Addis, Aylah Addis, Hudson Addis, Sophie Hutchinson, Carter Hutchinson, Taylor Addis, Alexis Addis and her sister Joan Sandeurs of Marietta.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters, Kay Yost and Eva Haas and brother, Robert Howard.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (August3) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Mike Kodrich officiating.  Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday when family will greet friends from 2-4 and 6-8 and on Wednesday from 12:00 until 1:00.  Memorial contributions are requested to:  The Woman’s Home, 812 Third Street, Marietta, OH  45750.
