Lee Roy Browning
Lee Roy Browning, 77, of Jaycee Estates, formerly of Reno, died Sunday (October 6, 2013) at Marietta Memorial Hospital. He was born May 11, 1936, at home in Fouke, Arkansas, to the late Floyd Richard and Mattie (Attaway) Browning.
He moved to Marietta in 1953, and began working at Rich Loaf Bakery with his brother Ray and future mother-in-law, Mabel McKnight. He married E. Pauline “Polly” McKnight of Sandhill on June 28, 1953, in Reno. He spent most of his working life as a truck driver, retiring from the Dana Corp. He was a member of the Marietta Church of God.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife (March 12, 2012), brothers F. A., Ray and Othal. Survivors include his two sons, Rick (Kathy) of Reno and Michael (LuAnn) of Eighty Four, Pennsylvania; one granddaughter, Tiffany; four step-grandchildren, Kim, John, Jodi and Sara. He is also survived by brothers, Floyd and Boyce Browning, and sisters, Opal Tefteller, Pat Long, Joyce Howard and Irene Satterfield, all of Texarkana, Arkansas.
Visitation with the family will be Wednesday (October 9) after 2:00 with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday Marietta Church of God with Pastor John Coyle officiating. Burial will take place at East Lawn Memorial Park in Reno.
