Lena E. Kiggans Morgenstern

Lena E. Kiggans Morgenstern, 78, of Lower Salem passed away at 4:55 am, Saturday, June 30, 2018, at her home. She was born October 3, 1939, at Shay Ridge, Washington County, OH, a daughter of Lawrence Earl and Sarah Eva Kuhn Kiggans.

Lena was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and sharing with friends.

On December 18, 1959, she married Donald A. Morgenstern who preceded her in death on November 19, 2005. Surviving are her son and daughter: Susan J. (David) Smith of Gulf Breeze, FL and James E. (Connie) Morgenstern of Whipple; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren, her sister Ethel F. Hopp of Lower Salem, many nieces and nephews and loving friend and care giver Ellen O’Brien.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Donald E. Morgenstern and 2 daughters, Rebecca L. Tennant and Deborah K. Broome, grandson Dustin A. Morgenstern and 5 brothers and one sister.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday (July 5) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Jacklyn Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Salem Township Cemetery.
