Leo Edwin Hupp
Leo Edwin Hupp, 56 of Marietta passed away March 14, 2018, at his home. He was born in Marietta on October 4, 1961, a son of Russell and Patricia Hammond Hupp.
Leo graduated in 1980 from Warren High School. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy with the rank of BT3, stationed on the USS Jesse L. Brown, and was also a member of the Naval Reserves. He was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption. Leo was employed in the HVAC field and had owned and operated Anytime Air, Inc. before becoming disabled.
Leo cherished spending time with his children and grandson. He enjoyed coaching his daughters in softball and basketball, fishing, as well as caring for his devoted cat Pumpkin. Leo was an avid fan of Ohio State University football, NASCAR (Mark Martin), and the Dallas Cowboys.
He is survived by Sonja Hupp of Marietta; 3 daughters: Natasha Hupp of Hilliard, Ohio, Alexis “Buck” Hupp (Randy Booth), Marissa Hupp (Tyler Jett) and grandson Grayson Lee “GL” Hupp all of Marietta. Also surviving are Randy and Betty O’Brien; 2 brothers Russell “Rusty” Hupp and Glen Hupp (Dajea); 4 sisters: June Deem, Rose Pryor (Bill), Rebecca “Becky” Buckman, Brenda Bee (Mike); aunts: Suzanne “Suzy” Walters and Julia “Duby” Eckerty (Don) and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter Lacey Jenae Hupp, Uncle Edgar “Ed” Walters and brother-in-law Troy Buckman.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 19, at 10:00 am at Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption with Monsignor Michael Campbell as celebrant. Burial will follow in Tunnel Cemetery with full military rites. Family will greet friends at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Sunday 2-4 and 6-8.
