Leslie (Les) Paul McCutcheon, 61, of Marietta, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, on Saturday, January 20, 2024. He was born on September 14, 1962, in Marietta, OH, the son of the late Leroy H. and Loretta Ward McCutcheon.
Leslie was a graduate of Waterford High School with the Class of 1980. He was employed by Marietta Automotive Warehouse and American Producers Supply making lifelong friends at both locations. He loved spending time with his family and traveling around Ohio watching high school football games. If at home, he could always be found watching the Pirates, Steelers and Buckeyes. Over the last couple years that focus switched to doing whatever his granddaughter Ivy wanted to do so he could watch and make memories with her including a trip to Mount Airy, NC, and Myrtle Beach to celebrate Christmas and New Years this past year. He was a member of Tunnel United Methodist Church.
On June 17, 1989, he married his wife of 34 years, Nina Caldwell McCutcheon who survives with their three daughters, Megan (Robert) Brooks, Stephanie McCutcheon, Emily McCutcheon (boyfriend Aaron Hockenberry), and one grandchild Ivy Brooks, all of Marietta, OH. He is also survived by two brothers, Leroy E. (Janell) McCutcheon and Brian (Mary) McCutcheon and three sisters, Ann (Ron) Conner, Lela (Ed) Loudermilk, Bessie (Gene) Bateman and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Jean Ann Caldwell and Nancy Caldwell and one brother-in-law, Ernest (Erin) Caldwell.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Earl and Dorothy Caldwell.
The family would like to thank Dr. Kelli Cawley and the staff at Strecker Cancer Center for the care Les received.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, January 25, at Tunnel United Methodist Church with Reverend Lou Verdi officiating. Burial will follow at Tunnel Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6-8 on Wednesday, January 24, at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home.
