Lois Almeda Foster
Lois Almeda Foster, of Reno, passed away on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 12, 1927, in Corry, PA, to Clair Houghtling and Lotina (Vantassel) Long Houghtling Mace. Lois was a lifetime member of Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 5108 and a member of Frontier CB Radio Club with the handle of “Spitfire”.
She married Oliver L. Foster September 15, 1945. He preceded her in death on February 15, 2001. She is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters: Gary E. (Carol) Foster, Terry L. (Sherrie) Foster, Jerry O. (Julia) Foster, Linda (Donald) Vannoy, Sonja J. (Richard) Morrow, 20 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren and brother Ellsworth Houghtling of Naples FL.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Harry J. Foster, great grandson Adam Foster, granddaughter Lotina J. Vannoy Karcher, 5 brothers: Lyle and Myron Houghtling and Russel, Alfred and Vern Long; 6 sisters: Velma Houghtling Long, Mildred Houghtling Upton, Laura Houghtling Jackman, Barbara Houghtling, Mary Long Foster, Geneva Long.
Visitation will be from 5-8 on Friday evening (Dec. 20) at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home. Visitation will then be held on Sunday (Dec. 22) at Mathew-Fantauzzi Funeral Home in Ripley, NY from 2-4 & 6-8 with funeral services following on Monday at 11:00am at the funeral home.
