Margaret (Peggy) Ogle McAlarney

Margaret (Peggy) Ogle McAlarney went to be with her Lord & Savior Jesus Christ on April 8, 2018. She was born on June 18, 1933 to Robert Otto and Grace Lucille White Otto Marietta, Ohio. She attended Marietta City Schools, graduating in 1951. Peggy was a longtime member of Putnam Congregational Church, teaching Sunday school for 20 years, also active in Women’s Fellowship and served on various boards of the church.
She was a secretary at B.F. Goodrich until her marriage to Wayne Ogle in 1953. They moved to New Jersey and she worked for N.J. Bell Telephone Company for five years, then they returned to Marietta. They were blessed with four children from this marriage Scott (Daphine) Ogle of Beverly, Lisa (Bruce) Kehl of Marietta, Lori (Gary) Carruthers and Christie (Ryan) Clarkson of Florida. Wayne died in 1979. Peggy was employed at First Settlement Square.
In 2001, she married Fred McAlarney and they enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Florida. She is survived by her husband, four children and their mates, four grandchildren Tanner Ogle, Conner Ogle, Emily Clarkson and Ethan Clarkson, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her brothers, Bobby and Don Otto, her parents and step-parents, Elsie Otto and Harry Pfaff.
Peggy loved the Lord, her family, her friends, church family and was thankful for the people God brought into her life.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, April 14th at 11:30 at Putnam Congregational Church, 707 Masonic Park Rd., Devola. Visitation will be for one hour prior to celebration service. A private burial will be at Putnam Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory can be made to Putnam Congregational Church, 707 Masonic Park Rd., Marietta, Ohio 45750
