Marguerite L. Sims

Marguerite L. Sims, 80, of Fleming passed away at 2:35pm on Wednesday, August 3, 2011, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Parkersburg.

She was born on February 16, 1931, in East Liverpool, OH, a daughter of William and Etta Lowe McConaha.  She was a member of the Baptist Church and a homemaker.  She enjoyed playing cards and being with her family.

On June 30, 1947, she married Frederick Sims, Sr., who survives with 5 sons and 3 daughters:  Fred Sims and special friend Diane, Mike and Donna Sims, Sharon Allberry and special friend Joe, Cheryl Abe and husband, Richard and Sherry Sims, Bill and Patty Sims, Robert and Tina Sims, Etta and Vic Cole.  Also surviving are grandchildren:  Chris, James, Kevin, Michele, Teresa, Angie, John, Scott, Joe, Jason, Bryan, Eric, Amber, Josh, Rachel, Jeremy, Chad, Taylor, Miranda, Justin, Olivia and 34 great grandchildren, step-father Boyd Winans, and her brothers Bob and Larry Winans.

She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Bill McConaha, grandchildren, Frederick Charles Sims Jr. and Evie Louise Sims, son-in-law Roger Allberry and daughter-in-law Brenda Sims.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (August 6) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Roger Rush officiating.  Burial will follow at Highland Ridge Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday after 3:00 pm.
