Martin D. Welch, Sr.

Martin D. Welch, Sr., 61, of Marietta, passed away on Wednesday morning, September 26, 2012, at his home. He was born on September 5, 1951, in Marietta, a son of Paul Gilbert and Mary Elaine (Waite) Welch. Marty was a graduate of Waterford High School in 1969 and was employed by Haessly Lumber Company as a truck driver. He enjoyed woodworking and was a member of Fairview Heights Chapel.

On May 20, 1989, he married Monica Dalton who survives with children: Ann (Tim) Tansey of South Amherst, OH, Martin Welch, Jr. of Marietta, Victoria Parsons, Paul Michael (Echo) Welch of Vermilion, OH, Codie Welch of Vermilion, stepson Darrell Clark and 12 grandchildren.

Memorial service will be held on Saturday (Sept. 29) at 1:00pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with family greeting friends beginning at noon. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.mslfuneralhome.com.
