Mary Emma Ludwig Ellis
Mary Emma Ludwig Ellis, 74, of Marietta, passed away Sunday (August 19, 2012) at Heartland of Marietta.
She was born May 10,1938, in Barlow Township, Washington County, to the late Charles J. Ludwig, Sr. (1979) and Edna Grace Martin Ludwig (1976). She was married to the late Kenneth E. Ellis (1998) on March 28,1959.
Mary resided in Marietta her entire life, working at Marietta Memorial Hospital laundry for 36 years. She enjoyed activities in the Marietta area, especially the music with her friends on the levee. She attended North Hills Baptist church.
Mary is survived by her brother Alvin and wife, Donna Ludwig of Marietta, step-daughter, Donna Ellis Monroe, of Vienna, West Virginia, and her beloved pet, Sophie. Her family also included brothers Lloyd Dean Ludwig, deceased 1937, and Charles J. Ludwig, Jr., deceased 2008. She is also survived by nieces Kathie Gibb, Vickie Hendershot, Jennifer Yerex, and nephew, John Ludwig. Her nephew Mike Ludwig passed away September 23, 2011. Mary is also survived by 16 great and 9 great-great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday (August 21, 2012) at McClure-Shafer-Lankford Funeral Home with funeral service Wednesday (August 22, 2012) at the funeral home at 11:00 am with Pastor Don Kirby officiating, burial at Warren Chapel Cemetery.
