Mary Lou Crumbley

Mary Lou Crumbley, 92, of Williamstown passed away Tuesday morning (January 1, 2019) at Wyngate Senior Living in Parkersburg.

Mary Lou was born August 4, 1926 in Marietta, Ohio to Robert J. and Gladys M. Braden. She was a graduate of Marietta High School and attended the College of Wooster. She owned and operated Dawson Lanes (NKA North Hills Lanes) in Marietta. She also worked at First Bank and as a bookkeeper for Braden Development. Mary Lou was a lifelong member of Norwood United Methodist Church of Marietta where she served the church in several capacities. Mary Lou also was a member of the local Chapter of the CCL.

She and her husband Frank enjoyed camping and boating and were members of the Marietta Boat Club. She loved to crochet, work puzzles, play games, watch old westerns, and always had a new joke to tell.

She was very loving and cared deeply for her family. Her biggest joy was being near her grand and great grandchildren.

She is survived by her son Robert (Sherri) Dawson of Maryland, daughter Connie Houser of Williamstown, and son Frank (Kim) Crumbley of Marietta. Grandchildren include, Greg (Janinne) Dawson, David (Mendy) Houser, Justin (Tracy) Houser, Megan (Adam) Miller and Braden Crumbley. Great grandchildren include Ben and Brooke Dawson, Sydney and Mason Houser, Eli and Amelia Houser, and Karter Ellis and Sarah Miller.

She is proceeded in death by her parents, first husband Tom Dawson, husband Frank Crumbley, and son James E. Dawson.

The family would like to thank the caregivers for the care received at Wyngate Senior Living and Hospice.

Funeral services will be held 11 am on Saturday, January 5th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Roger Rush officiating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park.
