Mary Maxine Parks Erb

Mary Maxine Parks Erb of Whipple passed away on Friday, March 8, 2019, at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born on August 8, 1925, at home in Bethel Township, Monroe County, Ohio to Orval Suddeth and Ida Jane Cline Parks.

Maxine or “Sis” as she was usually called is survived by her children, Pamela Jane (Russ) Stewart and Tina Gay Hendershot of Marietta, James Michael Erb of Lower Salem and Brian Keith (Lisa) Erb of Kimmel, Indiana. She is also survived by three sisters, Donna Kay Sands of Gallipolis, Judy Carpenter of Lewisville and Patty (Joe) Lucas of Marietta. Maxine also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 3 great-great- grandchildren and numerous step grandchildren as well as extended family, nieces, nephews and an uncle “Wib” Cline of Florida.

Maxine was a graduate of Bethel High School, a member of Masterton Chapter #584 OES and Whipple Community Church which later became Whipple Baptist Church. She had worked as a switchboard operator at Ohio Bell in Marietta. She was an Ohio State fan, watched PBA bowling and enjoyed college basketball, football, baseball and softball.

She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings Robert Parks, Gilbert Wayne Parks and Nina Lee Parks in infancy and a son Larry Eugene Erb.

At her request she was cremated and services will be held at a later date. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
