Merle Hesson
Merle Hesson, 91, of Parkersburg, WV, passed away on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at the home of family members in St. Marys, VW.
He was born on September 21, 1920, at Archers Fork, Ohio, a son of the late William T. and Margret Caroline Miller Hesson. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a self employed farmer in Newport until 1968 and was employed as a production worker and meat cutter until retirement. He attended Washington State College and was a life long Buckeye fan and enjoyed gardening until the last year of his life.
He is survived by caretakers, James Hesson nephew and Martha Hesson niece, and also nephew Donald Hesson and niece Kathryn McCullough.
He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Samuel, Glen and Ora Hesson and 4 sisters, Thelma Rosser, Ruth Frisch, Mary Harding and Orpha Darney.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday (Oct. 12) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening after 6:00.
