Mildred K. McAlarney
Mildred K. McAlarney, 86, of Whipple passed away at 3:00 pm on Monday, December 5, 2016, at her home. She was born July 20, 1930, in Washington County, Ohio, to Henry and Carrie Zimmerman Pontius. Mildred had been employed at Harts Department Store and retired after 25 years of service. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who loved wildlife, flowers, birds and “life” in general.
She was married Robert E. McAlarney for 65 years. He survives with 2 sons: Wayne E. (Cheryl) McAlarney and Gene A. (Kathy) McAlarney both of Whipple; 4 grandchildren: Kyle, Kaitlyn, Sarah and Gregory and 3 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and 2 brothers Ralph and Dean Pontius.
Funeral services will be held on Friday (Dec. 9) at 11:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Salem Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday after 3:00 pm. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
