Milton “Pete” Proctor

Milton “Pete” Proctor, 94, of Marietta passed away Saturday, November 21, 2105, in Cleveland, OH.  He was born May 23, 1921, in Barlow a son of Milton Dean and Erma Loynachan Proctor.

Pete had been employed by B & O Railroad as a clerk and was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army.  He attended Gilman United Methodist Church, was a life member of American Legion, VFW and the I.O.O.F.  He was an avid card player, especially Euchre, pinochle and canasta, and enjoyed playing and calling Bingo at the O’Neill Center.  He also loved square dancing at the VFW Senior Citizens night.

On March 15, 1941, he married Cora Louise Place who preceded him in death Dec. 12, 2004.

He is survived by his 2 sons, Neil (Donna) Proctor of Sedona, AZ and Larry Proctor of Marietta; 4 granddaughters and their families:  Shelly (Bowen) Banbury and daughters Alexis and Koren of Denver, CO, Kris (Hunter) Banbury and daughters Skyler and Devon of Aurora, OH; Jennifer Proctor and daughter Audrey Louise of Westerville and Stephanie (Chase) Wells and daughter Emilia Louise of Gahanna.  He is also survived his sister Eileen Schaad of Indiana and brother Robert (Louise) Proctor of Tennessee and two nephews and one niece.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and sister Donna Neader.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (Dec. 1) at 10:00 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Diann O’Bryant officiating. Interment will follow in Barlow Cemetery.  Family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday from 2-4 & 6-8.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
