Nancy L. Murphy

Nancy L. Murphy, 66, of Newport, OH, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at Belpre Landings.

She was born on November 19, 1959, in Marietta a daughter of Charles C. Benson and Gertrude Matheny Benson. Nancy was a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed taking care of everyone she knew, especially her family. She was a “Big Time” Steelers fan, but loved spending time with her grandchildren.

On August 6, 1976, she married James Murphy who preceded her in death on September 13, 2015. Surviving are her sons, Ray Murphy and Donnie (Christina) Murphy; grandchildren: Jared, Dylan, Makenzie, Brianna, Shayla, Riley, Cailin and Dade; great granddaughter, Hayden and her siblings: Bonnie Delong, Dearrell (Gladys) Benson, Anna (Joe) Huck and Sandra Cooke.

She is preceded in death by her husband, parents and siblings: Charles, Delmus Gene, Ernest Lee, Janet, Marilyn, Donna, Patricia, Wilma and Christine.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (June 16) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial following in Barker Cemetery. Family will greet friends before the service from 11:00 until 1:00 pm. Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
