Norma Jeane Cisler

Norma Jeane Davis Cisler passed away unexpectedly, but peacefully in her sleep on June 4, 2016 in Marietta.  Norma was born in 1929 at Marietta Ohio to Howard and Georgia Davis.

She grew up in Marietta with her three sisters, Sidnie, Sandra and Karen and brother, Michael.  She married Jacob G. N. Cisler in 1946 and they had 2 sons, David and Jeffrey.  Norma was primarily a housewife while raising her family and worked full-time after her sons grew up.  She retired from Westbrook Health Services in 2010 at the age of 80.  Norma was a dynamic individual, a bundle of energy, a great dancer, a loving wife and mother and had a bright sense of humor with a sparkling giggle.  All her life, she was an avid reader and an accomplished crafter who was very skilled at many crafts, but especially did beautiful cross-stitching.  She was a passionate advocate for animals and loved her pets.

She was preceded in death by her parents and step-father (Clifford Wilson), her sisters (Sidnie and Karen), her husband (Jake) and her son, (Jeff).  She is survived by her sister Sandy (Sonny) and brother Mike (Connie), her son Dave (Kim), 6 grandchildren and a step-grandson and 3 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday (June 10) at 1:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Reverend Don Archer officiating.  Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will greet friends at the funeral home before the service from 12 until 1.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in her name to the Humane Society of the Ohio Valley or to the Westbrook Foundation.
