Norman “Nick” Frank

Portrait of Norman “Nick” Frank

Norman “Nick” Frank, 79, of Williamstown, WV, passed away at his home on Thursday, February 28, 2019, after a battle with cancer. He was born in Port Washington, OH, and was the son of the late Robert “Bob” Frank and Marian Roth Frank, both of Port Washington.

He married Debra Miller Frank on February 14, 1993. Surviving are a daughter, Melissa Adkins Weppler and husband Scott Weppler and their 3 daughters, Kristianna, Taylor and Parker all of Williamstown; a son Eric Adkins of Lower Salem and his 5 children: Shaianna, Brady, Trey, Torri and Kaila; an older brother Paul (Pat) Frank of Independence, OH, sister-in-law Dorothy Frank of Gnadenhutten, OH.

He was preceded in death by both parents and brothers, Robert “Bob” and Kenneth “Ken”.

Nick graduated from Port Washington High School in 1957. He proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1963 to 1965 at Fort Totten in Bayside NY as a construction illustrator for missile sites. After high school he went to work for Ohio Department of Highways. He later worked for Shelly & Sands as a superintendent. He said they were the greatest company that he had ever worked for. He retired from Shelly & Sands in 2009 after 13 years of service.

Nick was brutally honest, gregarious, conscientious and logical. He was very particular about his truck and his jeans and t-shirts had to be ironed. His motto was “It’s 5 o’clock somewhere—Captain Morgan & Diet Pepsi.” His father was his hero.

The family would like to thank Amedysis Hospice for their care of Nick.

A celebration of his life will be held at Marietta Wine Cellars on Sunday (March 3) from 2 until 5. Memorial contributions in his memory to the Marietta Community Foundation “Bee You Scholarship” will be appreciated.
