Patricia A. Huffer
Patricia A. Huffer, age 77, of Marietta, Ohio was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus at 6:50 PM on Saturday, February 19th 2011 at her home surrounded by her family.
Patricia was born on November 27,1933, in Marietta, Ohio to Richard T. and Mary L. Clark. Patricia is survived by daughter Kimberly A. Steed (Perry), son David E. Huffer (Teresa) of Marietta, daughter Susan L. Wenmoth (Robert) of Thurmont, Maryland, brother, Robert Clark (Millie), as well as several nieces and nephews. Eight grandchildren: Michelle Gebczyk (John) of Marietta, Amanda Huffer (Chris Cassle) of Fort Collins Colorado, Chad Steed (Jennifer), Ciji Painter (Duane), Jonathan Steed, Cassi Huffer, Cody Huffer, of Marietta, and Whitney Wenmoth of Thurmont, Maryland. Three Great-Grandchildren: Jantzen, Caden, and Ava Gebczyk of Marietta and Little Miss Orphan Annie (Family Yorkshire Terrier).
Patricia was predeceased by her husband of 54 years Calvin E. Huffer, her parents, her in-laws Albert L. and Mildred C. Huffer, brother Lt. Ray R. Clark, and sister Leota Clark. Patricia was a member of Faith Bible Church In Williamstown, West Virginia. Patricia served in the Woman's Air Corp from December 1951, until her discharge March 10th, 1954. After her husband retired from the United States Air Force in 1971, they returned to Marietta where Patricia worked at COAD and then the Internal Revenue Service where she retired. She was also past President of NARFE, Chapter 0865.
Services will be held at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 24th, 2011, with Pastor Steve Delay of Faith Bible Church officiating with entombment following at East Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be present to greet family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and one hour prior to the service on Thursday..
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Patricia's name to the Humane Society of the Mid Ohio Valley, Hospice of Marietta, or to the charity of their choice. Special thanks to Dr. Kelly Cawley, the staff of Comfort Keepers, especially Jeanetta Gayheart, and Hospice of Marietta staff for their excellent care of Patricia.
