Patricia Ann Siler
Patricia Ann Siler, born August 24th, 1929 to Charles Morrow and Erma Bastian Morrow in Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on June 6th, 2026 in Marietta, Ohio. Pat had made Marietta her home for the past 20 years, where she had moved to be just down the street from her family as she aged.
After moving to California in 1931, Pat spent her childhood taking dance and piano lessons in Los Angeles. She then moved to Delano, California, where she was the head cheerleader at Delano High School. Every summer was spent in Grants Pass, Oregon, enjoying the family homestead with a plethora of cousins. Pat had a large group of very fun-sounding friends in high school who would tear it up on the dance floor, steal watermelons out of unsuspecting farmers’ fields at night, and skip school to spend a week on the lake (they even sent the principal a saucy postcard!).
When Pat was at Bakersfield Community College in California, she met and fell in love with Richard Keith Siler (though she did turn him down on his first attempt to ask her out on a date—she “was busy”). But after Keith managed to score that first date, he quickly won her heart and they were married when Pat was 19. The early years of their marriage were rather glamorous, living in Las Vegas, Hawaii, D.C., Florida, and Houston in the 50’s and 60’s. Keith worked as a meteorologist, eventually working at NASA during the Gemini, Apollo, and Space Shuttle programs. Their kids have memories of Pat driving them to Cocoa Beach, where they would park their car, sit up on the roof, and watch the launches. Pat always had an eye on the weather, checking her barometer every morning, and logging the rainfall in her rain gage every day from the time she lived in Hawaii until the day she checked into the hospital with congestive heart failure in 2026.
Known as “Baba” by her grandkids’ friends, Pat’s house was a popular place for people of all ages to grab a fancy cup of coffee, sit and chat, and play cards. Baba actually won the last card game she ever played, beating out her entire family just two weeks before she passed. She kept a lovely yard, tending to her lilacs, columbine, and especially her prized gladiolus. She was a devout Christian throughout her life, singing in church choirs, attending Bible studies, and studying her devotionals faithfully every morning.
Our beloved Pat is survived by her children Richard (Jennifer) Siler, Kathleen Perruci, and John (Becca) Siler, grandchildren Caroline Perruci, Derek Siler, Rebecca (Chris) Payne, Kayla (Matthew) Burkett, Alex (Sara) Perruci, Ezrah Siler, and Theda Siler, and great-grandchildren Adalynn and Meredith Perruci. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, young son Mark Siler, and son-in-law Gama Perruci. An interment at Mound Cemetery and celebration of life will follow later this summer. McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home is assisting the family and messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
