Patricia Sue Butts

Sue Butts, 85, of Marietta passed away on Friday, August 25, 2017, at 5:41 am at Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was born in Marietta on August 14, 1932, a daughter of Herbert L. and Grace Gerber Nelson.

Sue was retired from Public Debt in Parkersburg and later worked for Elder Beerman. She was a member of the Sixth and Washington Streets Church of Christ.

On December 12, 1952, she married Charles Hobart Butts who preceded her in death on July 7, 1992.
Sue is survived by two sons, Greg Butts of Weaversville, NC and Byron Butts of Marietta; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; her sister Geri Lemley and sister-in-law Betty Nelson; special cousin Barbara Harris. She touched many lives throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers Ronnie and Herbert Nelson and sister Betsy Norrick.

We would like to thank Pat Love for the friendship and support through this difficult time and Marcia Westbrook for the time and care given to Sue at her weakest. Special thank to Marietta Amedysis Hospice, Dr. Kelli Cawley and Dr. Steve Howe for the care given.
