Peggy E. Johnson Chidester

Peggy E. Johnson Chidester, 63, of Reno, passed away on Tuesday, June 16, 2009, at Marietta Memorial Hospital.

She was born on November 26, 1945, to Bernard and Mary Whitney Petty and adopted at the age of 3 by her aunt and uncle, Ruth and Ralph Johnson.  Peggy graduated from Marietta High School with the class of 1964.  She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening and flowers.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Kenneth Chidester, whom she married in 2004. Also surviving are 3 sons:  Larry (Jennifer) Babcock of MD, Bryan Babcock and Michael Babcock of Reno;  2 grandchildren:  Aaron and Caitlyn; and 2 brothers and 3 sisters:  Ralph (Sharon) Petty, Mary Card, Grace Bauerbach, Virginia Harrohill and Joseph (Carol) Petty.  Stepchildren Jeremy Chidester of Williamstown and Kenny Chidester of Gainesville, FL and step grandchildren Tyler, Autumn, Shelby, Andrea, and Ashley Chidester, also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Dorothy Clark.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday (June 20) at 2:00 pm at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with burial in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Calling hours will begin at the funeral home on Friday after 2:00pm.
