Portrait of Phyllis L. Bowersock

Phyllis L. Bowersock, of Bloomfield, OH, lived the dream and kept dreaming until she left this life on August 20, 2024, at 89 years young. She was born at home on Pine Ridge, on July 13, 1935, to Clarence and Carrie (Herlan) Binegar. She attended Newport School in the earlier years and in 2020 she accomplished her dream of obtaining her High School Diploma.

On August 18, 1952, she married Lawrence L. Bowersock who preceded her in death on November 12, 2020. Together they raised their 3 children on the family farm: Roy (Judy) Bowersock, Susie (Ted) Patterson, and Ronnie (Kim) Bowersock. Also surviving are her grandchildren Steve, Tony (Katina) and Rick (Leia) Bowersock; Melinda (Joe) Crone and Jeremy (Kathy) Patterson; Josh (Audrey), Zach (Mandy), Ben (Kristel), Pete, and Jill Bowersock. Her legacy also spans two additional generations with 15 great- grandchildren, Gaige, Lexi, Jacob, and Isaac Bowersock, Hannah and Spencer Crone (Morgan) and Katelyn and Madelyn Patterson, Abby (Jonah) and Maddy Bowersock, McKaylyn (Damon) Metheney, Mariah, Anna and Logan Bowersock, and Tyce Dunn and 3 great-great-grandchildren, Zealand, Rhett, and Saylor Metheney. Also survived by numerous neighbors, friends, nieces and nephews. She loved the Lord with all her heart and prayed every night that the family circle would not be broken in heaven.

She was a lifetime member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church where she did everything from teaching to cleaning. She was always doing for others. She loved to spend time mowing her yard. Always ready to go with anyone who called to ask her to go for a ride either other the ridges or through the fields. Some of those rides included jobs such as building fence, tending and vaccinating cattle. When not on the farm, she supported her family in their endeavors. She could make a day out of a trip to town and loved to shop.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, being the last living member of her family. Delores Thomas, Kenneth Binegar, Elwanda Congleton, Furl Binegar, Merle Binegar, Orvil Binegar, June Wigal, Monna Bond, Lyle Binegar, and Patricia Lamp.
