Ray Robinson
Ray Robinson, 79, of Marietta, passed away 11:58 pm February 23, 2011 at his home.
He was born October 24, 1931 at Gravel Bank to Clarence C. and Mamie B. (Joy) Robinson. Ray was a 1949 graduate of Marietta High School and had served in the US Air Force. He had worked as a production operator for B.F. Goodrich and later RJ.F. International until his retirement in 1994. Ray enjoyed woodworking, gardening, hunting, fishing and tinkering around. But, he especially loved helping others by volunteering and working at the Tri-County Food Pantry and Roadside Rests.
On July 26, 1959 he married Saundra Cozzens who survives with their son Gregory Ray Robinson (Jacquie Crockett) of Whipple and their daughter Rebecca Cunningham (Steve) of Tiki Island, TX. Also surviving are grandchildren Nathan and Jordan Cunningham and a sister Helen Wittekind (Delbert) of Fleming.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Clyde, Raymond, Clarence M., Ronald and Ralph Robinson, and one sister Hilda Dolak.
Funeral services will be 10 am Monday February 28th at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Verdi and Pastor Wendy Erb officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 pm Sunday. The family will be present from 2–4 and 6–8.
