Richard Lyle Cameron

Richard Lyle Cameron, 82, of Whipple went peacefully to be with his Savior on Friday, June 19, 2009, at his home.

He was born on June 8, 1927, to Frank and Cora McKee Cameron, in Williamstown, WV.  In May of 1942, he started working at Fenton Art Glass.  He loved working and retired in July 1988.  He was a 46-year member of American Flint Glass workers.  In his younger years he was an avid coon hunter and fisherman.  He was a loving father and proud grandfather and pappy.

He was a long time member of Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church and read his Bible cover to cover many times.

On February 1, 1945, he married his loving wife, Mary Elizabeth Carter, who preceded him in death on June 12, 1979.

He is survived by his children:  Connie (Steve) Eddy of Whipple, Wilma (Wayne) Eddy of North Port, FL, and Ronnie Cameron of Whipple, 8 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.  He is also survived by his sister, Ruth Husk, and brother, Gene Cameron, both of Navarre, OH, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Richard Dean Eddy, great grandson Brandon Lee Grosklos, sister Thelma Burdette, brother Don Cameron and one son-in-law Larry Wittekind.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday (June 23) at 10:30 am at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home with Pastor Lou Verde officiating.  Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park.  Friends may call at the funeral home from 2:00 on Monday afternoon.
