Richard William Hendricks
Richard William Hendricks, of Vienna, WV, died in his home on June 1st, 2020 at the age of 66.
Richard was born on December 23, 1953 to Ralph and Pearle Hendricks of Newport, OH. A lifelong resident of the Mid-Ohio Valley, Richard was a graduate of Frontier High School and earned an Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Hocking College. He lived many years in Newport, OH and Belmont, WV before moving to Vienna.
Richard was a man of many interests during his life, including fishing, golf, and firearms. During basketball season, he could often be found cheering on his beloved Kansas Jayhawks. Richard was a 32nd degree Mason and member of New Matamoras Lodge 374. Many will remember him as a fixture at Newport Lumber or in several different ventures selling cars in Pleasants County. He also served as part of the law enforcement community in Washington County, OH.
Richard will be loved and missed by surviving wife, Peggy; stepsons and daughters-in-law Jason & Jodie Guthrie and Brian & Amy Guthrie; brother and sister-in-law John & Charlotte Hendricks; 5 grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sisters Connie and JoAnne.
