Robert “Bob” Louis Heinlein, 84, of Marietta passed away at 5:20 am, Thursday, Feb. 6, 2024, at Arcadia Valley Nursing Home in Coolville, OH.

Bob was born to Della and Lester Wilson and was adopted and raised by Edna and Philip Heinlein in Hamilton, OH. He married his beloved wife Sandra Lou (Sandy) Nicholson on October 12, 1974 in Ohio.   Bob worked many years in construction running an excavator. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan, loved Mel McDaniel and camping. He enjoyed spending time at the Sternwheel Festival, Riverfront Roar and Washington County Fair.

He is survived by his daughter Darla Boyd, Fort Myers, FL; 3 sons Philip & Bobby Heinlein, Parkersburg; Jerry Heinlein, FL; multiple grandchildren & great grandchildren; sisters Alberta Ward & Fern Bailey, Indiana; brother-in-law Larry (Naomi) Nicholson, Marietta; many nieces and nephews, and his selfie buddy Denise (DeeDee) Nicholson Cavitt, Marietta.

He was proceeded in death by his parents, 3 siblings, a great granddaughter and his beloved wife Sandy.

Graveside services will be held on Monday (Feb. 10) at 11:30 am at Putnam Cemetery. Family will greet friends at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home before the service on Monday from 10:00 until 11:00. Messages of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.Lankfordfh.com.
