Robert “Bob” Leroy Bailey

Robert “Bob” Leroy Bailey, 82, of Marietta, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born April 13, 1935 at Ben’s Run, WV to Arthur T. and Helen Gay (Barnhart) Bailey. Bob was a graduate of Salem Liberty High School and had served in the US Army side by side with his brother Jim. He had retired from American Cyanamid. Bob was a charter member of Twin Rivers Baptist Church and an avid fisherman and Hunter.

Surviving are his children Kim (Mark) Finnegan of Perrysburg, OH, Kerry (Tom) Kottyan of Millfield, OH, Kristie (Duane) Garrison of Waverly, WV, Koni (Darrell) Phillips of Green Sea, SC, Also surviving are grandchildren: Michelle (Doug), Lacey (Andy), Caleb, Lakin, Mason, Hannah, Lexie and Madison and great grandchildren Layne and RaeLynn, along with several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his brother Jim, a great grandson Landan, and nephews Jeff and Tim.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Thursday, February 15th at Twin Rivers Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Baumer officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Township Cemetery with full military rites. Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home beginning 2pm Wednesday with the family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and 1 hour prior to the service at the church.
