Robert E. Hamilton, Jr, 88, of Chesapeake, OH, died Thursday, April 26, 2012, in VA Medical Center in Huntington, WV.
Robert was born June 25,1923, in Newark, OH, a son of the late Robert Ehert and Frances Heartt Hamilton. He was a World War II Army veteran, a lifetime VFW Post 1064 member, a member of the Collis P. Huntington Railroad Society Marietta Chapter, and the Disabled American Veterans.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Grace Hamilton; and one sister, Frances Parcells.
Robert is survived by four children, Robert E. (Linda) Hamilton, III, Bill (Carol) Hamilton, Roger Hamilton, and Don Hamilton; 10 grandchildren, Natalie, Lindsey, and Catherine Hamilton, Alicia Frances Daywalt, Billy and Robby Hamilton, Nathan B, Samuel E, and Joel L. Hamilton, and Corey Beth Shingleton; seven great grandchildren; and a special caregiver, Tim Clark.
Visitation will be 10 AM to 12 Noon Saturday, April 28 at Schneider-Griffin Funeral Home, Chesapeake, OH, Visitation in Marietta will be from 4 until 6 on Sunday (April 29) at McClure-Shafer-Lankford Funeral Home with funeral services at 10:30 AM on Monday (April 30) at the funeral home with Reverend Don Archer officiating. Burial will follow at East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites.
