Robert Franklin Travis

Robert Franklin Travis, 79, of Marietta passed away August 11, 2015 at Riverside Hospital. 
He born Dec. 31, 1935 in Wood Co. WV to LeRoy and Janie Radcliff Travis. 
He loved to fish and hunt with his family and friends and to provide for his family by growing a garden  and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds. He was a past employee of Fenton Art Glass and retired from C.H. Heist.  He was a member of Painters Local Union #1144.
 
He married Betty Ann Blume on Dec. 7, 1957. He was the father of 1 daughter and 3 sons: Barbara (David) Lowe of Marietta, Neal of Germantown, Frank (Christie Pritchett Smith) Newport, and Don (Jeri Gebczyk) of Macksburg.  He was the proud grandfather of  7 grandchildren : Toni (Aaron) Lang, Marietta, Amanda (Tim) Stone, Lowell, Dustin (Tiffiany) Lowe, Whipple, Rodney (Hannah) Travis, Barnesville, SPC, Brandon (Ashley) Travis of Fort Campbell, Ky, McKenzie and Tanner Smith of Newport. His most precious time was spent with his 8 Great Grandchildren: Destiny, Andrew and Mollie Lang, Megan Stone,, Lorelei Lowe, Skylar and Sophia Travis, Ryder Travis. He is also survived by his sister: Norma (John) Farnsworth, Marietta and brother Chuck (Helen) Travis, Waverly.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents  and 3 brothers: Bill ( Little Hocking)  Earl (New York) and Evertt (Canada).
 
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm, Friday (Aug. 14) at Lynch Wagner Community Church with Reverend Gene Ferrell officiating with interment following in Lynch Cemetery.  Friends may call at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home on Thursday after 2:00pm and at the church one hour before the service.  Messages of sympathy may be sent at www.Lankfordfh.com.
